Johor Port Bags AKI’s Industry Excellence Awards

JOHOR Port Bhd has bagged the Industry Excellence Awards for service sector with sales turnover of more than RM100 million at the recent 2016 Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri (AKI) Awards presentation ceremony.

A member of MMC Group, Johor Port, was recognised for its contribution, role and successby applying Malaysia’s Business Excellence Frame-work in its organisation.

AKI was introduced by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1991 to recognise out –standing local companies improvement in products and services.

Over the years, AKI has built its reputation as the nation’s premier corporate recognition awards. The event also brought together members from various manufacturing and service sectors.

MMC Group advisor Tan Sri Syed Abdul Jabbar Syed Hassan and Johor Port CEO Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim received the awards on behalf of the port operator.

“We are truly excited to have received this award as it signifies the port’s outstanding presence in the industry and our unwavering commitment in raising higher standards to provide value-added quality services for customers’ satisfaction,” said Syed Abdul Jabbar in a statement yesterday.

He said the port, an integrated multi-purpose port facility located at the south-eastern tip of Peninsular Malaysia, provides a comprehensive range of port services to meet customers’ needs.

With 24 berths and a total berthing length of 4.9km, Johor Port ‘s services and facilities include the container terminal, bulk and break bulk terminal and warehousing facilities.
