Integrated with Johor Port is the Johor Port Free Zone, a 267-hectare area designated for industrial and commercial activities within a free zone environment. Johor Port has also developed a satellite terminal known as “Terminal 2,” located approximately seven kilometres from the port. Terminal 2 enhances Johor Port’s capacity by offering additional space for commercial and warehousing activities, as well as Customs clearance services for its customers and business partners.
Johor Port has been appointed as the Free Zone Authority and is responsible for directly administering, maintaining and managing the Free Zone area.
Within the Free Zone, users may carry out a range of activities, including:
- Intermodal cargo conversion – break-bulking, containerization, liquid to containers/drums.
- Packaging and labelling.
- Processing, manufacturing, and assembly.
- Import and re-export activities.
- Trading activities
Johor Port Free Zone Authority also provides an online system, FZIPS, which is based on an enhanced web-based platform for cargo declarations and activity approvals within the Free Zone. This system offers significant time and cost savings for the customers.
