29 April 2022

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, together with Yayasan Pasir Gudang provided aids to 200 underprivileged families in Pasir Gudang area namely in Taman Air Biru, Taman Kota Masai, Taman Scientex and Kg. Pasir Putih in another meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Johor Port Prihatin, which took place from 12 April 2022 to 15 April 2022.

Through the Programme, Johor Port has successfully distributed 200 boxes of food essentials worth RM10,000.00 as well as financial aid worth RM40,000.00 to these families with the intention of easing their burdens in hopes that they will be able to have a more meaningful and memorable Raya festivity, as they continue to face challenges after the outbreak of COVID-19.

In a separate CSR programme called Jalinan Imarah Ramadan, Johor Port also treated 50 underprivileged children from Sekolah Kebangsaan Kota Masai 2 to a shopping outing at Jakel, Bandar Baru Uda and a Buka Puasa feast at Amari Hotel, Johor Bahru on 22 April 2022. The children were also given duit raya worth about RM2,500.00 in total.

With the objective of lightening the financial burden of families with low household income, these contributions also aimed to bring more joy to the families especially when Raya celebration is just around the corner – inculcating in all the values of sharing throughout the month of Ramadan and Syawal.

Johor Port concluded its Ramadan CSR on 26 April 2022 by organising its Bubur Lambuk Perdana, an annual CSR programme where it had prepared 2,000 packs of bubur lambuk through a gotong-royong effort volunteered by Johor Port’s staffs and distributed to the employees, port users and mosques in Pasir Gudang.

Johor Port’s CSR initiatives focus on giving back to the communities especially in the areas where it operates, in order to facilitate the growth of the local socio-economy. As a caring organisation, Johor Port remains committed to being socially responsible in the long run.
