Johor Port Supports Smart Learning Environment At Maahad Johor

On 15 July 2020, Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port) a member of MMC Group contributed computers to Maahad Johor, a religious secondary school in Johor Bahru as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.

With the aim to support smart learning environment at the school, Johor Port complemented the school’s library by contributing 5 units of refurbished computers complete with the latest Microsoft software and standard computer programme to be used as the smart learning tools for the students of Maahad Johor. Established in 1960, Maahad Johor is a 60-year-old state-run religious secondary school that offers conventional subjects and religious studies.

Education is one of the key elements of Johor Port’s CSR in expanding the company’s contribution to community. In 2012, Johor Port contributed IT equipment to 51 pre-schools within the Pasir Gudang vicinity. And since 2018 Johor Port has been donating computers to schools in Johor such as Sekolah Kebangsaan Kongkong Laut, Sekolah Agama Permas Jaya, Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Rinting and Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Megah Ria. Johor Port sees the need to support e-learning platform to provide easy access to students for their education, especially with the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Johor Port will continue to expand this education-based CSR to more schools in line with its continuous commitment to promote human capital development and improve the well-being of the communities by aiding the schools with learning assistance. The programme also saw Johor Port’s effort in environmental protection by reducing electronic waste with computer refurbishing.
