Johor Port Subsidiary to Operate Pengerang Solid Product Jetty

Kuala Lumpur – PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn Bhd (PRPC UF), a subsidiary of Petronas, signed an agreement with SPT Services Sdn Bhd for the operatorship of the Pengerang Integrated Complex’s (PIC) Solid Product Jetty last Thursday.

Under the agreement, SPT Services Sdn Bhd , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johor Port Berhad will provide operating equipment and system for the solid product jetty as well as to manage the operations and maintenance of the jetty.

The signing of the agreement was held at the Petronas Twin Tower. Present to sign the agreement were Petronas Senior Vice President and PRPC UF Chairman Colin Wong Hee Huing, and SPT Services Sdn Bhd Director Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim.

Wong commended the efforts by all parties in ensuring that the agreement was finalised within schedule. He also urged all parties involved in the project to always be vigilant towards upholding health, safety, security and environment standards under any circumstances.

“I am confident that SPT services Sdn Bhd, with guidance from Johor Port, will manage the operations of our solid product jetty in an efficient, competitive and most importantly, safe manner with continuous high health, safety, security and environment standards in the jetty’s daily operations.

“We expect good ethics, mutual respect and trust for each other to be demonstrated in delivering the commitments and meeting the expectations of Petronas and other stakeholders in the services provided,” he added.

The solid product jetty was designed as a tailor-made facility to manage the volume produced by the PIC as well as to ensure the timely export of containerised polymer and sulphur to market.

Apart from the jetty, the PIC also includes the refinery and petrochemical integrated development, the Pengerang co-generation plant, a liquefied natural gas re-gasification terminal, a raw water supply project, the Pengerang deepwater terminal, as well as centralised and shared utilities and facilities.
