Pilotage

Pilotage is compulsory for vessels exceeding 45m LOA entering or leaving the port water limits. Ships are required to notify the Port 24 hours before their arrival at the pilot boarding station. The boarding point is at Lat. 01° 18.9’ N, Long. 104° 07’ E, which is approximately 1.95 nautical miles away from Tanjung Stapa light beacon.

Tugboat Services

Tugboats are available for both towage, berthing and unberthing within the port water limits.

Stevedorage

Private contractors appointed by the port provide stevedores of various grades and skills in handling cargo and for working aboard vessels.

Bunkering

Vessels calling at our port can load bunkers alongside wharves, jetties or through bunker barges.

Fresh Water

Fresh water supply is available alongside wharves, jetties and water boat

Towage and Transhipment Operation for Damaged Vessels

Johor Port offers towage and transhipment operations for damaged vessels entering the port to carry out cargo transhipment.

Ship to ship transfer operation

Johor Port offers ship to ship transfer operation at positions bounded by the following points:

Mooring masters and STS equipment are available upon request. Vessel sizes handled by Johor Port  range from bunker barges to Very Large Crude Carriers.

Lay-Up

We have perhaps one of the most popular lay-up facilities for crude oil tankers and other vessels in South East Asia. The sheltered anchorage can accommodate a maximum of 20 VLCC-size vessels. A semi-submersible rig can be deployed at various recommended anchorages.

Malaysia Shipyard & Engineering has one of the finest ship repair facilities in the region located within a few nautical miles from our port. Their services are of the highest quality, and we are glad to work in cooperation with them to provide the most complete services for vessels plying the region.
