Users of the Free Zone enjoy minimal Customs formalities enabling them to engage in value-add activities.
Such activities include:
- Inter modal cargo conversion – break bulking, containerisation, liquid to containers/drums
- Packaging and labelling
- Processing, manufacturing and assembly
Users have access to the Free Zone Information Processing System (FZIPS), which is interlinked with the Customs Information System (SMK).

Free Zone Services
Johor Port Free Zone covers two-thirds of the port area, providing ample space for companies to engage in industrial and commercial activities. Among the benefits are:
- Duty exemption, minimal Authority intervention, simple documentation and partial importation.
- Inter-modal cargo conversion from break-bulking, containerisation, liquid to containers or drums, packaging and labelling, processing, manufacturing and assembling.
- Fast and integrated information processing system with Free Zone Information Processing System (FZIPS), which is connected to be Customs Information System (SMK).
- The Free Zone participates in the Royal Malaysian Customs Golden Client Program.
